Why Wood Look Tiles Are Eco Friendly?

by Lisa C. Marketing Writer

Building wooden flooring requires trees to be cut, which is one human activity that adversely impacts the environment and eco-system of the planet. Use of real wood is not eco-friendly at all. But when you use wood-look tiles, you can be sure that you are doing anything that has unfavorable impacts on the earth.

Let’s understand why and how wood-look tiles are an eco-friendly substitute for wood planks under the following subsections.

Wood Look Tiles –

When we say wood look, we must mention all the materials that look like wood. These include – white oak marble, wood look ceramic tile, wood look porcelain tile, and wood look luxury vinyl planks.

White Oak Marble is a natural stone just like any other variety of marble or any other natural stone which we use in our home. This is white is texture but gives effect of (white) painted wood plank flooring. This is the most natural and harmless material you can use in your home.

Wood-Look Ceramic/Porcelain is a clay product with wood patterns printed. The tiles are fired at extreme high temperatures to achieve strength and durability. These tiles are available in a variety of wood looks, which you can select based on your preferences.

Wood-Look Vinyl Tiles are PVC material, and their production too does not demand deforestation. It is a cost-effective waterproof, stain resistant, and durable material that can also be available in an array of wood textures.

How Wood Look Tiles are Eco-Friendly –

  • For cutting, sorting, stacking and shipping trees (wood planks) requires use of fossil fuel. Burning fuel causes air pollution.
  • Wood blocks are often dried in a kiln which uses fossil fuel at a number of times. That means, when we demand wood planks, we put environment in danger two ways.
  • Make a smart choice, and DO NOT use real wood planks for the flooring of your home. Use wood look instead.
