Why we need more stem cell clinics

by John Karry SEO Expert

First off it must be said that the name stem cell clinics is misleading. It implies that these are treatment centers that use stem cell technology as the basis of their treatment. While this is true, it is not the entire truth, these facilities perform a variety of functions that are crucial to the development and progress of stem cell treatment as a medical practice. This is why there needs to be more investment in setting up and running more of these facilities in the near future.

Increased research

Stem cell treatment is still at a nascent stage as these facilities have only recently started to make any real headway in terms of research results. The use of stem cells as a form of treatment has only gained mainstream acceptance in recent times. This means that the researchers have yet to get the support that they need. Funding is only starting to meet the levels that are required to enable this scientific area to be fully investigated. This is why it is essential that we setup more of these facilities and enable further research operations to be taken on the subject.

Increased collection of stem cells

Stem cells are a truly rare and valuable asset for the medical community. They must be harvested in sheer specific circumstances from an extremely small list of sources. The best stem cell material is that harvested from the placenta of a new mother. This is because it is remarkably good in terms of genetic quality, and these cells have been well nourished by the nutrients that the mother is giving to the baby. An increase in the number of stem cells clinics would mean an increase in the collection and storage of this medical resource for use at a later stage when required. This would be immensely beneficial to the millions of people who are suffering from diseases and complications that modern medicine has been able to address.

Increase in treatment facilities

Stem cell treatment is still a truly exclusive service that the majority of the population does not have access to. This discrimination in who accesses these services would be addressed if the number of these facilities were considerably increased. This can be done through an increase in the amount of combined private and public investment in this project. Medical services of this magnitude need to become an accessible service to all and soon.
