On the other hand, the rituals performed in the more advanced degrees are based on the lines and material passed down by the Worshipful Masters of the 18th century. Also, the secret handshakes, symbols and passwords are also same that were used by the Middle Age guilds.

Masons who have attained the rank of Master Mason after a period of four weeks in standing are entitled to join Royal Arch Masonry. The degree of Master Mason is deemed complete when the Mason has been exalted into a Royal Arch Chapter. In the Royal Arch, members are being referred to as Companions and they meet in Chapters. The Chapters are ruled by three principals collectively for the period of one year. Every year an installation meeting is done for appointing the team of new principals. There are four ceremonies in the Royal Arch Freemasonry. The exaltation ceremony happens to welcome the new members and the installation ceremony for appointing each of the three principals. The exaltation ceremony is carried out in two parts; the dramatic representation which is followed by three lectures. The Chapter of Royal Arch Masonry has four degrees namely Mark Master, Past Master, Most Excellent Master and Royal Arch Mason.
