Vande Mataram meaning in Hindi- In the year 1882 Vande Mataram was prepared by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay with a mixture of Sanskrit Bengali languages. In this novel, the song has been performed by a sannyasin named Bhawanand and was composed by Yadunath Bhattacharya. The song takes 65 seconds to sing, in an international survey conducted by BBC World Service in 2003, around 7000 songs from the world were selected among the most famous songs of the time. According to the BBC, people from 1555 countries voted in it and 'Vande Mataram' was selected at number 10. 

If Bangla language is kept in mind, it should be titled 'Bande Mataram' but due to the mixture of Hindi and Sanskrit it has been called 'Vande'. Keeping this fact in mind, the title should be Bande Maratam.

The lyrics of this song are as follows - "Vande Mataram! Sujalaan Suflaan Malayaj Shitalam, Shasya Shyamalaram Mataram." The verse after Mukhade is also written in Sanskrit itself- "Shubhra jyotsnaan pulkit yaminim, Ful kusumit drumdal sobhiniam; Suhasiniin sumadhur bhashiniam, Sukhanam varadan mataram." It is said that this song was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in the train while coming to Naihati from Sealdah. The song is a national anthem of India and the song was taken from Bakim Chandra Chatterjee's novel Anandamath.
