The Dangers of Using Synthetic CBD

by Troy M. Mr
The use of CBD oil for everyday purposes is becoming more commonplace especially in the past few years. However, this popularity comes with a price. Although there are more high-quality organic CBD oil products now available in the market, there are still ones that are made from artificial ingredients—the ones considered as synthetic CBD.

It is relatively cheaper than naturally-made cannabidiol, making it tempting for users who want to spend less money on CBD. However, what helps them save often end up compromising their health.

The Deal With Synthetics

Synthetic CBD oil, as its name implies, is manufactured through artificial means. Instead of hemp extracts, it is made up of chemicals that try to imitate the effects of cannabidiol. It may or may not provide the same degree of health benefits that organic CBD can.

Hidden Hazards

CBD users who want to experience the least amount of allergic reactions and other side effects can ask for medical advice. But for users of synthetic CBD, there's still more to discover. . Not even doctors who have extensive knowledge of organic cannabidiol may provide the right kind of information when it comes to synthetic CBD.

In the winter of 2017, there was a notable case wherein around 50 people in Utah fell ill after ingesting synthetic CBD. The product was labeled organic CBD but turned out to be made from artificial cannabinoids.

It has always been highly advised that CBD users buy their goods from established manufacturers and licensed dispensaries. Not only because is it illegal to purchase from unauthorized sellers, but also because it minimizes the instances of people buying mislabeled products.

Hemp Farming Legalization: What Does It Entail For Synthetic CBD?

Synthetic CBD was primarily made to compensate for the limited supply of hemp in the USA. Before December's Farm Bill, it was not legal under federal law to grow hemp domestically. In most cases, harvested plants had to come from overseas. This made hemp-based products like hempseed oil and cannabidiol more accessible. More importantly, it has also made it more affordable.

But with hemp plant farming finally legalized in the US, synthetic CBD demand will most likely lessen in favor of genuine organic cannabinoid hemp oil. In the long run, this is probably for the greater good. It will decrease the chances of more people falling ill to artificial cannabinoids due to a lack of information.
