The Basics of Buying CBD in Colorado

by Troy M. Mr
The decision to legalize medical marijuana was approved back in 2000. Recreational cannabis was legalized in 2012. Since then, Colorado has been one of the friendliest places in the USA for cannabis users. The product line in the state is nothing to scoff at. Colorado’s medical cannabis products are considered better than in other legal states such as California.

In fact, many people from nearby states – and even those from distant ones – are willing to travel to The Centennial State just for their cannabis.

Because of this, the hemp and CBD oil industries have prospered greatly in Colorado.  It grows the most hemp in the United States. There are more than thirty thousand acres of land dedicated to cultivating the hemp plant.

CBD oil is very much legal to buy and use in this state. However, that does not mean that you can buy as much marijuana or cannabinoid-rich hemp oil in Colorado as you want. There are some rules that have to be followed by state residents and visitors alike, such as:

Legal Age

Anyone from ages 21 and above is allowed to purchase cannabis products as long as they are able to present a government-issued identification card as proof of their age. However, if someone between 18 to 21 years old wants to make a purchase, they should first have a red card. Non-residents of the state cannot apply for a red card.

Stores caught selling to underage buyers will be subject to losing their license.

Always Buy From a Licensed Seller

When it comes to marijuana, buying from an unlicensed supplier is illegal, and so is selling them without a license. Cannabidiol production and distribution are not as highly regulated as marijuana. It is advised that CBD users purchase products in licensed dispensaries around the state.

This is to ensure that they are getting genuine, high-quality oils, as dispensaries are required to test the products that they are selling. The same principle applies to those buying from organic CBD online stores.

Cannabidiol is very easy to obtain in Colorado. Nevertheless, you should always consult with a trusted physician first before using it to avoid any unwanted side effects. CBD does have many positive properties such as its ability to relieve pain and anxiety. It's still best to have professional medical advice when it comes to the right dosages.
