The Amazing And Marvelous Miracles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was virtue personified and an embodiment of the highest character. All His life, He exhibited personality traits that made Him superior to all the people of that time, the Prophets that came before Him and till now and till the end of days there will be no person matching His grandeur and Magnificence.

Splitting of Moon:

Prophet (PBUH) performed the miracle of splitting the moon into two halves. Quran is also evident of this miracle:

“The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder”. (Quran 54:1)

Hazrat Abdullah also narrates of the event saying: “The moon was cleft asunder while we were in the company of the Prophet, and it became two parts. The Prophet (PBUH) said, Witness, Witness (the miracle).” (Volume 6, Book 60, Number 388)

Food Multiplication:

Hazrat Jabir (RA) narrated that: “My father had died so I came to Prophet (PBUH) and said: “My father has died leaving me in debt. I have nothing other than the yield of date palms, and the yield I receive will not cover this debt for years, so please come with me so that the creditors shall not misbehave with me.” The Prophet (PBUH) round on the heaps of dates and invoked Allah, and did the same with the other heap and sat on it and said, “ Measure (for them)”. All the creditors received their right and what remained was the same which had been paid.” (Volume 4, Book 56, Number 780)

Water Multiplication:

Al-Bara narrated that “We were 1400 people on the day of Hudaibiya. At Hudaibiya there was a well and everyone drew water out of it leaving not even a single drop. The Prophet (PBUH) while sitting at the edge of the well and asked for some water. After rinsing it in His mouth, He threw it into the well. We stayed there for a short while and quenched our thirst by drawing the water from the same well and even the riding animals also drank it to their satisfaction.” (Volume 4, Book 56, Number 777)

Lights for Guidance of Companions:

Anas bin Malik (RA) narrates that: “Two Companions departed from Prophet (PBUH) at night and two lights like lamp guided them by lighting their way in front of them. When they departed the lights also departed and guided them until they reached their respective houses.” (Volume 1, Book 8, Number 454)

The Date-palm Tree Stem Crying:

Ibn Umar (RA) narrates that: “The Prophet (PBUH) used to deliver His sermons while resting His back on the trunk of a date palm. However, when the pulpit was made, He used the pulpit. Seeing this the Trunk started crying and Prophet (PBUH) went to it and rubbed His hand over it (to stop the trunk from crying).” (Volume 4, Book 56, Number 783)

Miraj:

One of the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the Miraj- the journey to Jerusalem and from there the Ascent to heavens in a single night. Allah Almighty says about this miracle in Quran in the following way:

“And We granted the vision (Ascension to the heavens) which We made you see (as an actual eye witness) was only made as a trial for the people.” (17:60)

In short, Prophet (PBUH) showered countless miracles during His life time, from which the believers found encouragement and an increase in faith, the greatest example of which is the miracle of Quran.
