Suhel Seth talks about the Make in India Initiative
by chandra joshi i m bloggerSince the outbreak of the Covid-19, the world has been
impacted in numerous ways. People had to adapt to the new ways of life. In the
beginning, it took a huge toll on people’s lifestyle, health, and the economy.
The world had come to a complete stop. Within the first few weeks of the
lockdown, India’s economy witnessed an unprecedented decrease in the country’s
GDP. All industries were completely shut down and the unemployment rate was
spiking. However, the government slowly was able to take control of the
situation. In this fight against the pandemic, the honourable Prime Minister of
India, Mr. Narendra Modi launched the ‘Atmanirbhar Package’ on May 12. Under
this initiative, the government allotted Rs. 20 lakh crore so that liquidity
can be enhanced and the national treasure of the country is not compromised.
The primary focus of the initiative is to make India a self-reliant country in
every way. Many other improvements were introduced by the government to support
the agricultural sector, real estate sector, judiciary, tax, etc. as well. The
package also stresses upon building the ‘Make In India’ initiative.
Many personalities came forward and appreciated it. Among the
personalities, Suhel Seth, the founder of the consultancy
firm Counselage and a famous columnist, boosted it further. He reckons that
this is a great initiative and an amazing step to boost the economy of the
country. Various industries and business sectors will be able to handle the
post-COVID-19 situation better. According to Suhel, it will help to bring
balance in the economy and the country will become self-reliant. This will make
India identifiable in the global competitive market that will further boost
consumer consumption and local production. As a result, it will improve the
country’s economy.
The Covid-19 situation completely crippled the nation’s
economy and the recovery of the business sectors now completely lies in the
hands of the government. So far, the government has taken initiatives and
implemented strategies that have facilitated the recovery significantly. Suhel
Seth appreciated the RBI Governor, Shkitkana Das for his efforts in sharing
knowledge and insights about how to improve the economy. Also, Seth reckons
that the Indian government should focus more on sentiment- recalibration. The
only way to achieve stability is by understanding the consumer consumption
dynamics. If the suppliers and consumers work together, an ‘Atmanirbhar’ Bharat
can be created.
