Student Exchange Program Becoming Popular in India: Some Glimpses

Student Exchange is a program in which a country sends or exchanges students to other institution with which they have made a tie –up. Global Education becoming the need of the time every B school is trying hard to cater its students with something that give them an edge over others. One can be at ones country itself and can taste the flavor of International education by this program. These tie-ups have been done in plenty by the Business schools across the world. This not only give practical knowledge of the field but also about the country’s traditions and culture. In India too this has become quite a popular trend in attracting students. B schools are often sending students who spend a 3 to 4 months time and enrich their knowledge about corporate communications and how to present one to the employers.

Scenario Abroad

National Student Exchange Program gives placement opportunities in USA and Canada .Another networking Institute namely ISEP provides opportunities to students of nearly 50 countries.  It is a non- profit organization governed by a board of Directors and by the designated coordinators of the institutes.

London Business School conducts this program by sending its students to different countries of Asia, Europe, Australia and also Latin America. Darden School of Business also does reciprocation by this programme from different countries with which they have tie-ups.

Scenario in India

In India for quite some time now this student exchange programme has become popular especially in Management schools. Every institution is trying to give the best to its students by offering world class education.  IIMK an institute by the Govt. of India does student exchange every year. Business schools like IIMC also have taken up this initiative as it has collaborated with universities abroad.
