Retrograde ejaculation treatment
by Pooja Chauhan Freelance ProfessionalNormally semen comes out of the penis when the
ejaculation is made, but in some cases semen may return to the bladder instead
of going outward. What is happening here?
We will learn more about this strange situation
in this article.
What is retrograde ejaculation?
The semen comes out during ejaculation from the
urethra to the head of the penis then the outside. Usually there is a special
small muscle working to close the bladder opening during the process so that
semen does not return to the bladder.
But when this muscle does not work as the
bladder should not close completely. semen complete its way to the bladder
instead of the opening of the penis. Retrograde ejaculation is also called dry
orgasm.
The man may notice the semen coming out of the
penis but not in the normal quantity, but less. This may cause fertility
disorders in men, reducing the chances of successful fertilization of the ovum.
These are quick facts about
retrograde ejaculation:
Retrograde ejaculation is responsible for only
0.3 - 2% of fertility problems in the world.
This is not a serious health condition and it
is not painful.
A man may not realize that he is suffering from
this condition as a result of the semen actually coming out of the ejaculation,
it is not noticed that the quantity is less than usual.
Causes of retrograde ejaculation
Diabetics: When there is instability in sugar
levels for prolonged periods without treatment in the right way. This may cause
damage to many organs and nerves in the body, which may affect the muscles of
the bladder.
Nervous system dysfunction: Diseases or other
disorders of the nervous system (such as multiple sclerosis or spinal injury)
can lead to malfunction in the nerves and muscles of the bladder.
Surgery: Surgery of the prostate, colon,
bladder or area below the spine may cause retrograde ejaculation.
Certain medications: Some drugs may generally
affect ejaculation, including medications to treat prostate enlargement or some
types of antidepressants.
Retrograde ejaculation treatment
Because retrograde ejaculation may affect
intercourse in general, some men may prefer to undergo treatment if the cause
of the infection is not serious and requires treatment.
If the aim of the treatment is to have a
pregnancy with the wife, then doctors may resort to the isolation of sperm that
leaked to the bladder, or using drugs to stimulate ejaculation outside.
