100 Underprivileged Children ‘Smile’ in Dubai Medical Mission
DUBAI, UAE- In commemoration of the
late UAE Founding Father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was known for
championing children’s health and well-being, the Aster Volunteers and Emirates
Red Crescent-Dubai collaborated to provide medical treatment to 100
underprivileged children. This was held in the Year of Zayed, celebrated in the
memory of the leader’s 100th birth anniversary.
The joint program, which they called
“Smile,” gathered together over 24 medical and non-medical volunteers, along
with Lighthouse Cohort (which is known for its CSR programs) to serve the needs
of indigent children from Syria, Yemen, and Iraq.
Aster Volunteers is a non-profit health and wellness
organization dedicated to spreading hope and inspiring people. They conducted the
camp on March 4, 2018, from 9 am to 3 pm, for children up to 12 years old at
the Emirates Red Crescent, Garhoud, Dubai.
The children, some of whom were orphans and were
rescued from difficult circumstances, received much-needed medical care, as well
as moments of fun and creative learning.
Lighthouse Cohort brought happiness to the children by engaging them in
different games, arts and crafts activities, and educational endeavors. There
were workshops for the children to teach them painting, beadwork, papercraft,
and photography.
The hundred child beneficiaries had check-ups from
general medical practitioners, as well as from various specialists. There were
doctors specializing in ear, nose, and throat (ENT), and paediatrics.
One very important feature of the Smile project was
the provision of dental services since access to dental care is a widespread
problem for children who live in poverty. Since poor oral health affects the
children’s eating, speaking, and learning, it is critical to address dental
problems right away, because they will only get worse with time if left
untreated.
For
populations who are blessed with the capacity to afford high-quality dental
care, one of the most trusted dental clinic in Dubai is the American Medical
and Dental Center (AMDC). The AMDC operates with a core team of highly
competent and experienced dentists. They provide top-caliber dental services
for both adults and children.
The
AMDC was founded in 2005 in the USA. The following year, 2006, it opened its doors
in the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai Healthcare City. For those looking for
the best dentist in Dubai, the AMDC is a great choice. It offers a wide range
of dental services, including veneers and implants.
If
you are searching for a dentist in Dubai who does high-quality veneers in
Dubai, this is the place to go to. Dental veneers are used to dramatically
transform the teeth of those who have stained, crooked, or damaged teeth.
Veneers have the advantage of not being invasive nor painful for the patient.
Meanwhile, for people who are searching for reputable dental
professionals who perform dental implants in Dubai, this is also the right
place. Dental implants have the advantage of being more stable and comfortable
than conventional bridges or dentures, and is highly recommended for those who
need convenience and can afford it.
