Kashmir located in the northernmost part of the country is an unparalleled natural beauty. Snowy glaciers, expansive grasslands, pristine lakes, and amazing orchards are true paradise on earth. Kashmir has managed to attract tourists from worldwide. For making your vacation memorable add certain places to visit in Kashmir to your list. 


SRINAGAR:


A city in Kashmir located on the banks of river Jhelum. The city wakes up with Pre-Dwan Prayers and Zikr the melodies of winter that are sung on nine bridges. It connects the city to meanders through the valley going farther away in Dal Lake. The Silk Sunset, the gloom beyond the oil lamp floating over the lake, the cold breeze, and the emptiness of eyes would show the true meaning of life. The old buildings and mosques at the center of the city embark on the era that existed once. You can visit places like Muhal Gardens, Tulip Garden Festival, Dachigam National Park and Dal Lake here. 


SONAMARG: 


A small town in Kashmir located at the banks of the Sindh River in Ganderbal District gives you a picturesque view and is about 70 KM away from the Srinagar International Airport. The valley connects various Himalayan peaks ranging from Amarnath Peak, to Sirbal Peak and the list goes on. Being a connecting point to peaks it gives you an attractive view of meadows of gold, breathtaking lakes, and towering glaciers in one place. It is a base camp for trekkers who may take different routes later. It is in its vicinity that the best winter trek of Kashmir Marchoi Trek comes. 


KUPWARA: 


A District in Kashmir is about 90 KM away from Srinagar. The beauty of the place in terms of alpine mountains, meadows, and the gushing water flowing through the district. It has become the world’s best tourist site over the period. The Lolab Valley is famous for its greenery covered with Golden Trees and Grasslands. A hidden place with charming views that will leave you wandering is Bangus Valley. Due to being located close to the Line of Control between India and Pakistan the site is not fully functional. The valley is proposed to be a biosphere reserve as it provides fine-quality grass having higher medicinal value. 


SINTHAN TOP: 


It is well connected with the Anantnag-Kokernag-Sinthan-Kishtwar road which is rarest to see. The site is covered with dense pine forests and mountains giving you a fascinating view. Sinthan Top is a hit place for those who have visited and got to see its mesmerizing view. It must visit place for the view of mountains capped with snow. The trip to the place must be via road to enjoy the scenic view of the location. 


BHADERWAH: 


A place located in the Doda District of Kashmir. It is different from all other tourist spots. It is commonly known for its mountainous location and the significance of boosting adventure activities. The area covers lush green grassland, rich flora and fauna, and shiny water bodies flowing through the region. The surprising fact about the place is that it is home to a variety of species of snakes. The site has a lot to offer to tourists from Rock Climbing to Paragliding. It showcases beautiful scenery to those who love meadows. 


GUREZ: 


The valley is surrounded by snow-covered mountains and gives a sparkling view of the river flowing. It is a shelter for exotic wildlife mainly snow leopard and brown bear. Although the place is known for its landscapes, green turf of lands, and fishing in the river flowing but trekking to the place would be a lifetime experince. 


Gruez Valley is one of the best offbeat places here in Kashmir. 


WATLAB: 


A must-visit destination in Kashmir. It is a natural beauty with a spiritual touch. The place gives you a stunning view of Wular Lake. Wular Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia attracting major tourists to the site. The field nearby is covered with golden-green shades of paddy. The site is home to various varieties of birds including Himalayan Golden Eagles, Rock Dove, and Barn Shallow among others. 


WARWAN VALLEY: 


A blissful destination in the lap of mother earth with a glimpse of city life. Ranging from breathtaking waterfalls to huge Cedar trees and mysterious dense forests. The site hasn’t gotten much exposure to the modern world making it a quaint tourist spot. It is a paradise for trek lovers on your way you get to see many pristine lakes and a charming view to the tourists. Warwan valley is famous for an offbeat Warwan valley trek which connects this valley to Kargil. 


KATHUA: 


The city is a gateway to the state and industrial town under the protection of the army. The presence of Sufis in the Shrine of Pirs makes it commonly known as the ‘City of Sufis’. Situated on the banks of the river it offers a beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere. The place comprises monuments that are a must-visit for a history lover. 


DAKSUM:

 

It is a place for everyone to visit. The place has so much to offer ranging from Scenic beauty for artists, mountains for adventure lovers, and a fun setting to visit with family and friends. The brighter grassy meadows and dark coniferous forests, the changing of color and the contrast of the valley are distinctive features. It embraces the typical traditional lifestyles and enjoys the beauty of natural springs. It is the site for camping and trekking that offers a thrill on the path. This is also one of the best offbeat places in Kashmir
