Li-Fi technology from Professor Hass
Have you heard LiFi? I think you must know WiFi. We may use it everyday. But we will use LiFi in the future.
On the TED global conference, July 2011, Professor Hass designed a demonstration device. With a device a $3 LED bulb, he could control the playback of a large screen video.

A plant grows in a HD video. With light, it can continue. If the light is blocked, it will stop to grow. He looked around and putted up a great idea-LiFi to the audience. Just look around us. There is a lamp everywhere. You please look at your mobile phone. It also has LED lamp. They are the potential vectorthe of future high-speed data transmission! All we need to do is to put a tiny chip inserted every potential lighting equipment.
So LiFi is the visible light wireless communication technology. He has applied for a patent.
Li-Fi technology would consume far less power than our current internet infrastructure, and would be easier to transport, install, operate and maintain than satellite or line-of-sight antennas. If utilized at the strategic, operational and tactical levels, this technology could potentially save the Department of Defense billions of dollars.
