Is it Too Early in the Year For Donating?

When you think about what time of year this is associated with, your mind might automatically drift to the holiday season of Christmas. While that is the idea that you give to those in need around the holidays, is any time an excellent time to donate? If you donate in April, will those donations be just as useful as those at the holidays, will they go to those in need? Or will your donations simply find their way into a resale shop purchased by savvy buyers?
Cleaning Out Your Closet
There's a reason why we call it spring cleaning. This is the time of the year that you can do some good for those in need. While you might have accumulated a ton of clothing over the last year, there is probably some stuff you don't want to wear, things you can't fit into anymore, or just have things that aren't your style. This is an excellent time to clear the closet and give it to a charity. Look for clothing donations near me to find the easiest way to get your items picked up. Diverse Range Of Products
One reason you should consider giving to a charity at different times throughout the year is to diversify what they will have on hand for those in need. If everyone donated pants, there would be no shorts for the warmer temperatures. Take a look at everything you use and don't use and decide from there what is in the best condition to give away. Remember, the state will matter, if you wouldn't wear it or it has holes, it probably won't be an eligible item to go to someone else.
The Condition
As mentioned above, the condition does matter. If you are donating something other than clothing like household electronics, like a blender or food processor, these items should be in working order. If not, they would be of no use to someone else, thus negating the purpose of donating. For things that don't work, simply pitch these. Not only will you eliminate clutter, but you'll make organizing for the items that are going to charity and those that aren't easier on yourself.
