How To Use Pickup Please and Their Donation Services

by Mark Simmons Donate Clothes

Are you ready to get rid of useless items around your home? Are these items in good condition and could better serve someone else? If so, then donating to a charity might be the best decision you can make. Charities are non-profit organizations that take your items and disperse them to those people in need, or sell the items and take the revenue and give it to the cause. Nonprofits are amazing and will go out of there way to further their cause.

If you are unsure which charity is right for you because there are a ton to choose from, think about what means something to you. For example, Pickup Please in the Laurel area is the Vietnam Veterans of America, and all their donations go towards helping vets and their families, especially those who have fallen on hard times. While there are a ton of options out there to give to, you should consider a charity that means something to you.

If you choose Pickup Please, you’ll find that they have made the entire process of donating easier than most others. Instead of having to load your items into a truck and make your way to the donation center, you can simply schedule a pickup. Not only can you have someone come to you, but they also have pickup within 24-hours usually. This means you don’t have to sit with clutter around your home for days or even weeks on end. You can get it out of your home and on its way to helping out a vet and their families.

Once you have collected the items you wish to donate, you will want to set them aside. Schedule your pickup by either visiting them online to calling their Laurel phone number. They will give you an estimated time of pickup and then look for them to show up. You don’t have to be present for them to get the donations either. They can leave a receipt in your mailbox or wherever you specify.

The system they have is an easy one. However, you will want to make sure that you only donate items that one person will be able to lift. There is typically only one of two persons available in the truck, and larger or heavier items will be nearly impossible for one person to get on their own. If you are concerned that an item is too large, contact the organization to find out if they would accept it.
