Zehnder radiators areoriginally a Swiss company which now sells their products all over the world, having affiliated themselves with a German manufacturer.  Together they are a formidable force that sells radiators and accessories to domestic and industrial users.

It is said that this company invented the tubular heaters that are now universally used.  Previously only cast iron steam radiators existed which did not have such an efficient heat distribution capacity.

Buying fancy radiators is one thing, but how does your central heating system work?  We all take it for granted that a room gets warm when we switch a heater on in the room.

The driving force is our boiler, of course, to which all radiators in the home is attached via a series of copper pipes.  All radiators are linked to one-another through these pipes and the heaters in individual rooms are either on or off.

For this reason it is prudent when buying new heaters for our rooms we should purchase thermostatic valves to go with them.  They will give you better temperature control in every room.  Bedrooms are uncomfortable if they are too hot, whilst bathrooms and living areas should be warmer.

When we are in the bathroom we often do not wear any clothing and in the living areas we normally sit still comfortably watching TV or listening to music.  When fitting these valves to your system you should ensure that you do not add one of these to a radiator in the same room where the system thermostat is housed as they will counteract each other understandably.

If you are going to update your heating system you should investigate boilers too.  The conventional ones we normally have in our homes are less efficient than the newer generation of condensing boilers.  These latest boilers will save you much money as not much heat escapes via the chimney to the outside world.

So the boiler and radiators work together to circulate hot water in a continuous flow through the pipes.  Although gas is the most used fuel, systems can work just as efficiently when powered by oil or electricity.

If you fancy having designer radiators fitted in every room, you should realise that this is a major job.  The whole system has to be drained before removing the old heaters off the wall.  For this reason it is best to let a professional do the job.  If pipes are not properly sealed, you may experience a serious leak.

For the best deals you should go on line to search for these heaters as delivery times are short and they can be with you within the week.  The designer varieties are much more expensive than conventional ones, but you can make a feature out of them.

When researching these radiators you should find out whether the prices stated against the images are inclusive of VAT or not.  You may get a nasty surprise if you do not do this.  Generally the delivery of your purchase is free of charge.
