Social media users are telling this picture of West Bengal. People claim that the rally of Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath did not get crowded.

All such claims are being made on social media by linking this picture with Bengal.

The investigation

In our investigation, the claim of Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath in the rally with empty chairs turned out to be misleading. Actually, this picture is not from West Bengal, but from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. On 20 January 2018, Amit Shah arrived in Varanasi to participate in the Youth Ujjosh program. During this time, many chairs in the field were seen empty.

After searching with the help of some keywords, we got a viral picture in a news report of 'Hindustan' newspaper on 20 January 2018. According to the news, the then BJP national president Amit Shah had reached Kashi Vidyapeeth to participate in the party's youth proclamation program. In this program, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the then BJP State President Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey were also present.

After further search on this basis, we found a video report related to this program on the 'News Tak' YouTube channel. This video was uploaded on 20 January 2018. According to the report, in Varanasi, the BJP's youth proclamation program had started getting chairs even before the program started. The chairs were left empty when the media noticed.

Result

In our investigation, the claim that Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath's rally connected empty chairs with Bengal turned out to be misleading. The picture of the empty chairs is of the youth proclamation program of the BJP in Varanasi in January 2018. The event was attended by the then BJP President Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

 Investigated viral cutting. In our investigation, the claim being made in viral cutting turned out to be three years old. A model curriculum was released in 2018 to enrich technical education. In this, subjects like culture, yoga, constitution, Indian traditional knowledge i.e. Indian Knowledge Tradition and Environment were added.

After searching with the help of some keywords, we found a report of 'Hindustan Times' newspaper on 25 January 2018. According to the report, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the organization that manages technical education in India, released a model curriculum for technical education. Apart from engineering subjects, constitution, environment, yoga, Vedas, Puranas, logic, etc. were added to this course. Although its numbers do not appear in the examination, it is compulsory to read it.
