Here Is a Guide to Encouraging Your Pastor

Many have complained and condemned on the church’s “celebrity culture”. This phrase, by and large, brings to the memory some of the famous pastors who became blind leaders. Which is why, the “celebrity culture” poses a great threat to those low-key church ministers and leaders who have done countless good deeds; there are numerous ministers who could not enjoy the goodwill because they did not get on the bandwagon that was named “celebrity culture”.
The malaise of “celebrity culture” mushrooms when the pastor separates from the normal procedure of encouragement and accountability in the Lord’s body. So how do you, the preacher, keep the pastors on the right track? The answer is simple—every preacher will have to encourage the pastors without exalting them. A pastor must always be given to understand that the final authority rests with Jesus. This authority is unquestionable and should be accepted with a heart filled with greatness and gratitude.
So, basically, you will have to encourage the pastors to perform well on the spiritual grounds; that is the only way by which pastors are encouraged. Let us explore more on this topic, now.
Make the Sermon Feedback Specific
A preacher compliments the pastor by saying, “Pastor, you’ve been an amazing preacher.” If you will do that, the pastor may get filled with a sense of pride. However, your aim should be to fill the pastor with gratitude (which he will have towards the Lord). For that, you can make the sermon feedback specific for the pastor by remarking, “I’m grateful that Lord has enabled you to deliver such a great sermon.”
Encourage the Pastor to be an Exemplary Family Man, too
In general, pastors are family men as well. The pastors are fathers and husbands, and they should not neglect their household responsibilities in any way. However, with the advent of “celebrity culture”, the pastors have shrugged off their household responsibilities and are always found morbidly engrossed in church-related activities. This, nevertheless, should be avoided; and the preachers can do so by consistently reminding the pastors of their household responsibilities as well.
Similar tactics have been employed by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome to motivate his fellow pastors. He has given his fellow pastors all the strength, motivation and assistance to deliver sermons in the best possible way.
The fellow pastors, who are a part of the Christ Embassy Ministry, claim that Rev. Chris Oyakhilome (PhD) has done whatever is morally possible to motivate them to become true Men of God.
