7 Qualities of An Effective Pastor

To be a pastor, you’ll have to have a set of qualities that’ll define your character and that’ll impress the believers and the non believers. In this write-up, we’re sharing top seven qualities that each pastor must have.

Integrity

A pastor must discern well between what’s right and what’s wrong. And after discerning, pastors will have to stand unflinchingly for whatever is right and say openly about the good things that they’ve discerned.

Passion

Pastors should believe in whatever they’re doing and should’ve passion for the activities. The passion becomes deeper as and when the conviction gets stronger. And, most importantly, this passion should be infectious.

Perseverance

In the face of criticality, a pastor should never give up without a fight. Pastors must always have faith in the Lord because while preaching His name, they’ll face a variety of roadblocks. However, it’s their duty to never let a roadblock be a deadlock; for that, they’ll need to persevere.

Humility

It goes without saying that a pastor must be assertive and even aggressive; however, this aggressiveness must come with a sea of humility. Pastors have to cultivate humility; and history has countless examples to prove that it’s difficult for the men of God to maintain humility when they’ve to be assertive.

Vision

A pastor must see an opportunity that others easily overlook. Pastors have the uncanny ability to perceive situations before they convert into social, cultural or economic ills. They know the art of thinking strategically and have the potential that others lack.

Risk Taker

A pastor should take decisions even if they involve risks. Good pastors must do everything that’s morally required to let their decisions show positive results; and they should never ever let their choices, which are for the greater good, to get corrupted.

Connected to the Lord

And last but not least, a pastor should have a divine connection with the God. That divine connection will let the pastors make decisions that are beneficial for the world. For this, they’ll have to go through the Bible consistently and have to have unquestionable faith in the Lord.
