Gmail Not Loading: Windows 10 Error

Several users across the globe prefer Google Chrome due to its user-friendly features, speed, and smooth functionality. Though Chrome is not susceptible to many problems, there may be times when Gmail not loading in Chrome problems can occur. In the recent past, users who have upgraded to Windows 10, have complained of Gmail won’t load in Chrome on Windows 10 error. Sometimes, Gmail crashes on Windows 10 as well. You can try some preliminary troubleshooting to resolve the problem, before moving to the detailed troubleshooting.

Preliminary troubleshooting steps:

1.    Restart your system and check if the problem resolves itself.

2.    Try logging into your Gmail using a different browser other than Chrome. It will give you clarity if the problem is only in Google Chrome browser or other browsers too.

3.    Clear the Google Chrome cache and reload the page.

4.    Disable all the enabled extensions of your Chrome browser and restart the browser. It will help you to detect which extension was preventing Gmail from loading in Google Chrome.

5.    Update Google Chrome if your browser is outdated. If Chrome is not updated to the the latest version, Gmail will be troublesome to load.

Fix 1: Try opening Gmail in a separate private window.

Opening Gmail in the incognito mode might help Gmail to start loading on Chrome in Windows 10 version.

·         Open Google Chrome browser.

·         On the top-right corner of the browser, tap on the More icon (three vertical dots).

·         Click on the New Incognito Window. A new window will open up.

·         You can check the incognito icon on the top corner.

·         You can use the shortcut button Ctrl+Shift+N on your keyboard to open the Incognito window.

Fix 2: Clear the browser cache and cookies

If your Chrome browser is overloaded with cookies and cache, it will not load on Windows 10 or stop working abruptly. To resolve this, you can clear the cache of your browser.

·         Launch Chrome on your system.

·         On the top-right corner of the browser, tap on the More icon (three vertical dots).

·         Click on More Tools and select the option of Clear Browsing Data.

·         If you want to delete everything, you can select all and tap All Time.

·         Finally, click on Clear Data to clear the data.

Fix 3: Check Gmail Labs

Try disabling the Gmail Labs one by one. It will help you to detect which one is a creating problem for Gmail to load on Chrome.

·         Launch Gmail.

·         Click settings on the top-right section of the app.

·         Click on the Settings button and visit the Labs menu.

·         Start disabling the labs one at a time.

·         Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save to save the changes.

Fix 4: Reset Google Chrome browser.

Try resetting the Google Chrome browser. The reset will restore the default settings, and Gmail might start working on Chrome.
