Getting Referrals
No matter what type of online program you are promoting, PTC, GPT, or some other MLM system, your main goal should always be to get as many good working referrals as possible. This little speech will be primarily GPT oriented because that's where I concentrate my own efforts, but most of it can be applied to other types as well. Here are a few ways to go about it.
1) Take out advertising. Sounds like a no-brainer, huh? Well it is in a way, but there are more than one way to skin a cat (apologies to Ziggy). You can buy PTC ads or PTS ads at most GPT sites, using money you have earned there, or from your PayPal/AlertPay balances. PTS ads are most effective, since you can control who gets credit for them and not spend your money on people who are tab browsing and don't even look. You can also throw out free ads on Social Networking sites such as this one. Less effective, but much more FREE.
2) Facebook. Yes, harass your friends and family. But only do it when sites have referral sign-up bonuses or if there is a referral contest that does not require them to do any further work. Remember most of your friends and family will not step away from their FB games and Youtube video posting long enough to regularly make real money. Alternately, make a separate FB account for your business/earnings and add people from here, and from other sources, who have similar interests. I personally just started doing this myself (look up faiiacy or faii acy if you like).
3) Twitter. Hey, if anyone knows how to get anyone to actually sign up to anything off twitter let me know. I have 240 followers but have yet to make a single referral from my constant link posting.
4) Make an online earning blog or website. This can be effective, but only if you can get real eyes onto your site. The most beautiful site or best written blog in the world is useless if no one sees it. Which brings me to ...
5) Traffic Exchanges. No one at a TE will buy your candles,. or artwork, or other merchandise. I'm sorry but it's true. But what they MIGHT do is sign up under you in a free program. After all, they are there for the same reasons you are, to make money. Send some eyes across you reflinks. Heck, send LOTS of eyes across your reflinks and eventually you will get lucky. And most good TE's have chatboxes which allow you to talk and get to know and SELL yourself to the other users.
6) Forums. There are myriad forums dedicated to this stuff. Each one represents free advertising for you. But don't just drop in your link and walk away. Hang around, be active. As with all the previous points, if you are known, if your username is "branded" you are much more likely to ride that implied authenticity. Again, you are selling YOURSELF.
In short, your options for getting referrals are limited only by your imagination. And this is a game of imagination, of constantly using all your resources and of continually thinking of new methods and new venues in this not-so-mysterious referral hunt.
