Different Types of Moulds Invading an Ultra Luxurious Residential Property

Mould is a common problem that every household faces. Even the residents of an ultra luxurious residential property should be aware of mould invasion. Moulds can be extremely harmful for the health of both the apartment and the residents.

 

There are different types moulds. Some moulds are toxic, while some are not. Mould spores are found everywhere. So, it is a very common problem. So, you can easily spot mould invasion inside your apartment. But, how will you be able to understand whether the mould is toxic or not just after spotting it?


 

Primary signifier: Smell

 

Usually, every type of moulds produce a musty, unpleasant smell inside the apartment. This smell should tell you that your home is under mould attack. This is when you must check around the water sources of the apartment- for example, a leaky pipe or roof. These are the places where mould can thrive the best.


 

Different types of moulds look different from one another. Let us look at the different types of moulds below:

 

  1. Alternaria: This type of mould is usually found in your bathroom. If the area below the sink or around the shower stays wet constantly, dampness occurs in those places eventually. That is the perfect condition for this type of mould to grow.

Frequently found in places like carpet, upholstery, insulation, wallpaper, mattresses, cushions etc., these moulds have suede-like texture.

 

These are of green or brown colour. Even though Cladosporium is not reckoned as toxic, these cause serious health problems. Largely, these moulds are held responsible for skin issues and respiratory troubles. It is extremely allergenic and should be handled from distance.

 

3.      Aspergillus: These moulds can be of almost all the colours. These are highly allergenic. Under certain conditions, aspergillus is known to release toxins. Common symptoms of aspergillus development are:

a)     Asthma attack

b)     Lung infection

c)      Respiratory inflammation

 

Aspergillus is extremely likely to produce aflatoxins. It is reckoned to be a fatal carcinogen.

 

4.      Penicillin: This is one of the most well-known form of moulds which is easily traceable. Penicillin is generally green or blue in colour and has a velvety texture. Generally, penicillin grow on walls or in carpets.

 

This type of moulds are noted for their antibiotic properties. However, while it grows inside your apartment, they can create respiratory issues. Penicillin spores are commonly traced in the air of a dampened or moist area. These are largely responsible for sinus infections and inflammation of lungs.

Remember, you must destroy moulds at the earliest to keep your apartment safe from damage.
