Different Forms of Music for Every Soul

It is wisely said, ‘The true beauty of music is that it connects people’. Irrespective of caste, language, location, music connects and touches soul of all. This melodious form of art is admired by almost every human being in the world. Not everybody has the same taste for music and that is why music comes in different styles and types. Music with its rich history and geographical essence have made it desirable for every person’s ears. Music is a universal language but the effect of each genre is different.

Here’s a breakdown of different kinds of music and a piece of detail of each music genre:

Jazz:

On the streets of New Orleans, music scene is quite common. It’s not an exaggeration but a truth at least in past. New Orleans is actually the birthplace of Jazz. It is said Buddy Bolden, known as the Father of Jazz had invented this harmonious music style. This genre is a blend of ragtime and brass band with a room for improvisation. Clarinet, guitar, trumpet, saxophone were the common music instruments used for performing traditional jazz. It started as a gospel and blue music. With a lot of improvisation, Jazz has popped up in many forms like Acid Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Continental Jazz, Chamber Jazz, Cool Jazz and some more forms.

Rock ‘n’ Roll:

Elvis Presley, the king of Rock ‘n’ Roll, how can any music lover forget him. Rock ‘n’ Roll is a music originated by combining the classic jazz, blues, gospel music and country music. The rocking beats and simple melodies is specially blended for dancing. Drum beats, guitar and vocal together makes a Rock ‘n’ Roll band.

Blues:

Feeling blue, yes it evokes or supports the same feeling. Blue genre is associated with sad songs sung by person with a guitar. It’s quite a common scene in most of the movies. W.C. Handy is known as the Father of Blues who turned this genre of music into a worldwide phenomenon. Blues have also influenced many other music genres. This music style also have different types like delta blues, jump blues, Chicago blues and piedmont blues.

Pop:

If music has no language then pop has no rules. The Pop in pop music stands for popular. Pop music has elements of rock and rock ‘n’ roll music. Since pop means popular, the music is created in such a way that it becomes a rage among the audience. Usually the song has some peppy verse which is then repeated in chorus. It is said, the first pop song was recorded in 1926, however it became popular after 1950s.

Hip hop:

Hip hop gained a lot of popularity in music as well as dance. It first started in late 1970s by the African American and Latino youngsters in the Bronx of New York City. The credit for creating hip hop term is often given to Keith Cowboy who was a rapper. Hip hop is certainly an upbeat musical genre loved by the youths. It’s a culture that involves rapping.

There is a music for every emotion, for every situation. You cannot just love one form of music, it adds life or relates to almost everything in your life.
