Check The Exam Pattern Of IELTS

The IELTS exam was established in 1989 and managed by British Council, IDP. It is the popular English proficiency exam that is accepted by many foreign countries to study abroad or to get a job abroad. The exam helps the student to the accuracy of their English in each field. The exam is compulsory in countries like the USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. 


International English Language Testing System (IELTS) checks the expertise in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Each section has its importance and it is mandatory to attempt all the sections within a limited period. The exam is conducted through paper or computer mode; it depends on the choice of the applicant who is appearing in the exam.  


IELTS Exam Pattern

Students must know the IELTS exam pattern before appearing in the exam. As they are of two types: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training but both the test has the same pattern and make sure that before applying for the exam that you should the correct test type. The listening, reading, and writing section is completed in the same 2 hours 30 minutes without any break. The speaking section will be completed before or after the test and it lasts for 11-15 minutes. 


According to section-wise listening has 40 questions which are needed to solve in 30 minutes, where reading has 40 questions and need to be solved in 60 minutes, while writing has 2 task which has 60 minutes and speaking has 3 parts which have 11-14 minutes. The speaking test will be scheduled after the written test. In this speaking test, students need to speak on the following topic.
