Solution 1- Check your Entitlement Folder to delete the damaged files

The launch configuration files of the QB POS are encrypted and stored in the Entitlement folder on your PC. The files include the software's license number and registration info, which is necessary during its launch. You’ll receive an invalid product number warning 176109 whenever the software fails to access its program files. You won’t be able to run the financial exchange or record sales using the software until the error is removed. You can do it by deleting the Entitlement folder files or installing the Clear Entitlement File tool from the QB website to rectify the issue. Use the following steps-
  1. Open the Clear Entitlement File tool after downloading it and install it on your computer.
  2. Run the tool after it is completely installed and wait until it deletes damaged files from the folder.
  3. Relaunch QuickBooks Point of Sale on your PC and follow the steps to complete the registration.
You can also delete the files manually by visiting C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\V8 or V6 using File Explorer and using the steps mentioned below-
  1. Press Ctrl+A inside the folder to select all the files in the folder.
  2. Right-click and select the Delete option.
  3. Tap Yes in the dialogue box to confirm the deletion and reopen/reinstall QB Point of Sale.

Solution 2- Change the name WSActivity file in the POS folder to recreate it

QuickBooks POS can also struggle while opening if the WSActivity file gets damaged. The file can be easily recreated by renaming it as shown in these steps-
  1. Navigate to C:\Program Data\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of SaleXX\ini on your computer.
  2. Right-click on the WSActivity file inside and select the Rename option.
  3. Add ‘OLD’ at the beginning of the file name and remove all the files from the Entitlement Client folder.
  4. Reopen your QB Point of Sale.
