How to deal with QuickBooks POS Invalid Product Number

Solution 1: Delete the contents of the Point Of Sale entitlement folder and try again
Windows 8
- Right-click on the Start button and choose File Explorer.
- Then, click the View tab and check the Hidden items check-box.
- After checking the hidden box, Navigate in the left window to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
- Select all the files in the folder and press Delete.
- For the registration open Point of Sale again and complete the process.
Windows 7 and Vista
- Right-click on Start button and Open Windows Explorer.
- Click Organize and select Folder and Search Options.
- Click the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders.
- Then, Navigate in the left window to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8
- Select all the files in the folder and then press Delete.
- For the registration open Point of Sale again and complete the process.
Solution 2: Uninstall and Reinstall Point of Sale
- First, Uninstall Point of Sale.
- Then, Reinstall Point of Sale from a CD or download.
- If the error recurs, run a repair installation on Point of Sale, verifying the Product Number and License Number.
- After this, Open Point of Sale and register if prompted.
