Mumbai, July 2025 — The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has taken a giant leap into the digital future, driven by the visionary leadership of IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President & CEO of MHADA. With a sharp focus on citizen convenience, transparency, and timely grievance resolution, MHADA has rolled out several digital initiatives that are now transforming how people interact with government housing services in Maharashtra.

In an age where speed and transparency are paramount, MHADA’s digital transformation is not only timely but also people-first.

15 Crore+ Documents Now Digitally Accessible

One of the biggest milestones in MHADA’s tech journey is the digitization of over 15 crore housing-related documents. These include lease agreements, building plans, property documents, and other approvals, now made accessible to the public via MHADA’s official portal.

This initiative eliminates the need for citizens to visit multiple offices or rely on middlemen. Whether you're a home buyer, a tenant, or part of a housing society, you can now retrieve your essential housing papers online in just a few clicks.

Grievance Redressal Goes Digital with Lokshahi Din & Janata Darbar

MHADA’s public grievance redressal is also undergoing a major upgrade. Dedicated citizen-service platforms like Lokshahi Din and Janata Darbar Din are now more structured, with a digital backend tracking every complaint from submission to resolution.

Citizens can now file complaints online, monitor their status, and receive updates in real-time. This transparent and tech-driven mechanism ensures faster response times, better accountability, and a clear audit trail.

Sanjeev Jaiswal emphasized, “True governance reflects in how easily people can access services and resolve issues. Our aim is to make MHADA approachable, responsive, and reliable.”

Transparency Tools for Real-Time Project Updates

To ensure that redevelopment and housing projects are progressing on track, MHADA has introduced GPS mapping and live project tracking dashboards. These tools allow residents and stakeholders to monitor the status of their layout’s redevelopment—bringing greater accountability and citizen confidence.

Whether it’s a cluster redevelopment in Motilal Nagar or slum rehabilitation in Malvani, the public can now view timelines, work progress, and approval status online.

Book My Home Platform Empowers Buyers

MHADA’s innovative Book My Home platform allows home seekers to choose from available flats based on location, budget, and personal preference. This system has replaced the earlier opaque process with a transparent, user-friendly, and completely digital experience.

The success of this platform is reflected in higher participation and more satisfaction among allottees in recent housing lotteries.

Setting a National Example in Digital Governance

Under IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal’s guidance, MHADA is becoming a model for digital governance in India’s public housing sector. The focus is clear: empower citizens, reduce delays, eliminate paperwork, and make systems work smarter.

This overhaul is not just a technical upgrade but a cultural shift—one that puts the citizen at the center of governance.

As Maharashtra continues to grow, MHADA’s reforms under Mr. Jaiswal stand as a testament to how leadership combined with technology can reshape public systems for the better.
