A true case of 'Undersell and overdeliver!
I have not been a very happy girl recently. On Monday May 23 I experienced what was for me a tragic death. My 13 year old coffee maker gave up the ghost, died left this mortal plane to go to coffee maker heaven. That meant I had to pull out the back up. The percolator. Don't get me wrong I like percolated coffee but the waiting for the coffee to perk I don't like. So this has been a week of Cheryl the Grinch in the mornings.
But to get to the point of this little story, Cheryl needed a new coffee maker. So Cheryl decided to do something new and exciting order a coffee maker with the points she has been collecting from Nielson Homescan.
Every time I go to the store I scan my purchases and send the information to Nielson. Every time I send information, they give me points. I also get points for taking surveys too. I have been collecting points and doing nothing with them until Monday. Monday I visited a part of the site that I rarely visit "Redeem Points". I headed to the kitchen section and there was a nice snazzy little 12 cup programmable coffee maker. See I'm spoiled, I like my coffee ready and waiting when I wake up.
So I spend 12,000 points and click on redeem late Monday morning. Monday evening I get an e-mail that my order has been received. Now the one constant was the "Orders ship in 6 to 8 weeks". I got that message when I placed the order and again in the confirmation e-mail. So imagine my surprise this afternoon when the UPS man knocks on the door and hands me a box. I wasn't expecting any deliveries so I open it up and there is my brand spanking new coffee maker!
6 to 8 weeks!? It didn't even take 6 to 8 days! And tomorrow morning I will wake up to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee and appreciate what it feels like to be on the receiving end of 'undersell and overdeliver'!

Philippe that's because when they got home off tour the wives would be standing there with their hands out signing "honey give me the money" And Ac/dc would respond with a rousing chorus of...."Yes Dear"

Correction Philippe it's "Yes Dear" It's the ladies that get honey as in "Honey do this" and "Honey do that" and then we let you have the last word with "Yes Dear" ROFL!

Yes but I like the routine of roll out of bed, stumble to the kitchen and pour a nice hot cup. I do percolate if I have guests.

Mohann, you need to learn the man always has the last word: "Yes, honey" LOL

@pplcheryl63: You sure are losing the flavor of fresh coffee! I make my morning coffee almost instantly. The trick is to add a little hot water and wait for a minute to allow trapped (expanded) air to escape. Then pour in rest of hot water and wait a few minutes for the decoction to percolate.

Hey Ms. C, I love coffee too. People who don't drink coffee before they start their day, don't understand how it feels to have your coffee maker go bye, bye. So heres to that nice cup of morning brew! QueenHajar

"I like percolated coffee but the waiting for the coffee to perk I don't like." I am interested to know how much time does it take for that since I had done research into that and was successful!

PPLCHERYL63. Coffee is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water. It is the second most traded well after oil. People drink coffee all day, every day in most countries of the world.

I am a zomby before I had my coffee. Nice article. Did you send them a copy? I am sure they would be delighted to read it.
