How would you like the idea of leading business owners of major companies and people of influence in the world of social marketing and selling would read your content?
This is possible on Empire Avenue:
An exiting social media site with a game element. You can invest in people (with virtual money like on Augine). And I can tell you there are some real big players in this game. Business owners from companies like Ford, famous photographers and many leaders in social media and internet marketing. Imagine if you could build a good connection with this people.
There are several groups here, also country niches where you can have discussions in your native language. Some groups you can only join by invitation, often lead by people that have real influence. People that are willing to share their knowledge and to learn from others.
I am pretty new there so I do not know how all works yet, the game part, but I do know that is a great site to find new valuable connection and a great resource to expand your knowledge.
UPDATE
The game is still confusing to me. I am still looking for a group there where making connections is more important than playing the game. The site is a maze so I will save that for later. however I sometimes log in there since I am loaded with virtual money. I use it to buy ad space mainly. I found out that there is a new feature where I can get rid of my virtual money called "Missions". It costs virtual money to start one and participants also get paid in Eves (the virtual currency on Empire Avenue). It can be all kind of things i.e. subscribe to something, tweet or like something, etc. I just started my first. Lol, join APSense for free.

You don't have to start in the Eaves. When applying it asks you which group you'd like to join. Eaves is the default. There are many groups in sport. I applied for marketing.

I have found that By looking at who is investing in you, you find people to invest in and connect with. I've also found that the city communities can be a good place to look for contacts also. Most of the please buy me spam seems to be in the personal communities. The index also plays a part in it. If you are listed on a huge index like the Eaves which is where everyone starts off you can get lost. Find a less crowded index to join.

Yes it is more than a game and you can make good contacts. How easy that is depends a bit on the niche I think. I have seen some good discussions in some groups. There are also groups where you have to wade through tons of buy-me spam. i have no time for that right now. I pop in now and than to remain active and sort out later of which groups i want to remain a member off.

I am a bit less enthusiastic now. There are some exceptions but most people seem to be there more to play the game than in having discussions. There are some exceptions like the writers group though.
