Review - Mythology Surf

Mythology Surf is one of the newest Traffic Exchanges online. I joined in July 2008 and have only been a member for a matter of weeks but am already impressed by a number of things at this exchange.

Benefits:

* Admin replies are very respectful and timely (very quick!)

* Great graphics throughout the site - not just on the mainpage or on one or two splash pages

* Admin announcement/newsletters are respectful toward members and do not contain random garbage advertising and blatant 'mythology surf-self promotion.'

* Promotional pages offered for all members are numerous and high quality

* "The Game" makes surfing at this exchange rewarding and fun, as well as challenging

* Credit system is fair and reasonable for both paid and free members - meaning - paid members don't gain so much advantage with paid membership that they'll outflank free members drastically. Being a free member here is still very worthwhile!

THE GAME:

The owners/admin have concocted a great game that allows the Greek deities to be a constant theme in the minds of members. It's a card game of sorts, whereby members surf to collect cards representing the major deities, or - The Olympians. To make the game more challenging, two wildcards have been thrown in. These are "Hades" - who brings strife, and "Hercules" who brings fair luck and can over-turn Hades' bad tidings.

Surfers want to collect the following cards/deities: Aphrodite, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Hephaestus, Hera, Hermes, Hestia, Poseidon, and Zeus. Players want to avoid wildcard, Hades, but want to acquire wildcard Hercules early on! Once players gain the 12 Olympian deities, they can turn the cards in for prizes. If Hades shows up before the 12 Olympian deities are gathered, only Hercules can save the player from losing all cards and having to start all over again.

Prizes include: text impressions, banner impressions, credits, and during specific promotions, Pro Upgrades and cash! 

Owners of Mythology surf have paid great attention to graphics and detail and also provide all users with easy ways to promote and gain referrals of their own. There are no less than 6 (six!) promotional splash pages with referral IDs embedded for each member, along with the basic, main referral link. This makes promotion very simple even for beginner members. There are also 3 different, very attractive banners for use for all members. These are nicely animated and definitely show the theme of Mythology Surf in a big way!

Drawbacks:

Depending on how you view traffic and page-viewing, the 8 second timer can be considered a drawback. It means that other Mythology Surf members are only viewing the pages you put into rotation at this site - for 8 seconds. On the upswing here - 8 seconds per page means that, as a surfer, you're going to be able to gain a LOT of credits to your account through your own viewing activities.

Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being 'best' or highest rating, I have to give this exchange a 9 out of ten.

Obviously, I do have to take into account the 8 second timer - otherwise, this would be nearly the perfect surfsite, complete with fun and prizes!
