Aspen Medical On A Humanitarian Mission To Mosol, Iraq

Al Mosol, Iraq, 2/5/2018 - On March 2017, a global provider of health services that focuses on assisting rural and remote communities in responding to emergencies and critical situations called Aspen Medical launched a project in Iraq that aims to extend medical help to Iraqis during this time of hardship.

However, this is not the full story of how the discussed Trauma Centers were born. Because of the intricacy of the Iraqi situation, realizing this humanitarian leap took months of preparing. During these months, Aspen Medical and its sister company Abu Dhabi Uniteam, and after extensive liaison, successfully united the efforts of the Iraqi officials, civilian communities, NGOs and even Arabic corporations to secure everything needed to see such a project come true.

The 48-bed trauma field hospital in Upper Athba, Mosol, Iraq was the first fruit given by this mission, which became operative on March 24, 2017. Its success allowed for opening a second facility in Hamam Al Alil, Mosol, Iraq on the 23rd of April. These centers were equipped with maternal facilities and catered to a wide range of war traumas and injuries. The centers saved the injured a 4-hour trip to the nearest hospital in Arbil, successfully reducing mortality rate to under 4%.
