And on a lighter note humor has it's place in marketing too. From 2.0Alright I am going to be funny.  I want to mention a fact that is all too often over looked by the internet marketer, humor.  Most internet marketers take themselves so seriously that I could just scream.  Humor is a very powerful tool when it comes to marketing. Humor helps people feel good.  How many commercials do you see on TV that are based on humor?  Sometimes the humor is obvious sometimes tongue in cheek sometimes it makes you think but the humor is there. Why would a company spend millions of dollars on ad campaigns designed to make you laugh or chuckle?  So that you will connect their products to good feelings. For years Charmin used a character called Mr Whipple.  Mr Whipple was the manager of a grocery store and the bane of his existance where all the housewives coming into his store and "squeezing" the Charmin toilet paper.  The message was that Charmin was so soft you just couldn't resist squeezing it. They could have just made a commercial saying that straight out.  It would not have had the impact of a harried store manager frantically trying to prevent the abuse of the Charmin on his shelves.Budweiser also used humor in one of their ad campaigns and they really built up to theirs.  Bud was also smart enough to tie it into one of the biggest televised events of the year, the Super Bowl.  For several years football fans got two games for the price of one.  While which ever teams happen to make it to the big game that year battled it out on the gridiron to claim the title of Super Bowl Champions, bud and Bud Light battled it out on their own field during the "Bud Bowl".  How seriously can you take a game that features bottles of beer playing football? The list of humorous ad campains goes on and on and on.  Some of these ad campaigns have even gained a permanent place in our society.  Phrases like "Silly rabbit tricks are for kids." and  "Where's the beef?"The thing is in each one of these cases the marketing was based on humor.  So lighten up and have some fun.  You don't have to be serious all the time.  Let your prospects have a way to connect your products with good feelings

I agree with the above. It is also good to grab attention fe. by making a splash page with some humor. I remember one "cowasaki", a man siting on a cow with wheels as a persiflage on the motor bikes Kawasaki. I made me click.

My new favorite is 'Mayhem'. I love Dean Winter's work and the one commercial with him falling out of the tree cracks me up every time I see it.
And the duck was hilarious too "Aflaaac!"

@Cindy the Gecko had one commercial that really had me rolling. he's in the shower and the phone rings and out he comes with a little towel wrapped around his waist and teeny little shower cap on his head.
