Review on Pyroglutamic acid
Pyroglutamic acid, also known as 5-oxoproline, is an intermediate in glutathione metabolism. It can boost brain functions such as anxiety reduction, memory recall, learning and mental focus. Pyroglutamic acid has two specific forms known as enantiomers. These include D-pyroglutamic acid and L-pyroglutamic acid, with L-pyroglutamic acid being the biologically active enantiomer in humans. The primary biochemical use of L-pyroglutamic acid is believed to be increasing the activity of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. It may also be used in the production of the neurotransmitters gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine.Related to Pyroglutamic acid
