What Are The Different Components Of Longspan Shelving?

by John Wilson Supplier

Longspan shelves are also commonly known by various different names, such as open span shelves, heavy-duty shelves, boltless shelves, storage shelves, garage shelves, and warehouse shelves. This shelving is an ideal solution for storage in all kinds of warehouses that requires a medium storage system. It is a very versatile storage system that can be used in both home and commercial settings.

To understand if it is best for your needs, here is a brief description of components of long span shelving Brisbane-

Components Of Longspan Brisbane-

End frame

The main part of the long span component is that the end frame which is also called the upright frame. It consists of horizontal and diagonal braces bolted between the two stanchions. Then connect the beam to the stanchion to keep the beam load in place. Posts are offered in different heights and depths to suit your warehouse needs. It is best to have at least basic knowledge about the end frame so that you can understand which height and depth will be ideal for your warehouse space. You must learn more about the standard range of frame height and depth. The frame provides a connection point for adding bay extensions.

Beam

The beam of the long span unit is the horizontal part and serves to hold the load on the racking. The beam is fixed to the frame using a beam clip. You can find long span beans in different heights and profiles. Look for the standard range before making your purchase. . Horizontal beams connect to each strut and determine the length of the bay. Along with upright objects, they are a means by which long-span shelf units can be expanded. Stepped beams are embedded beams that allow shelves to be mounted between two beams at the same shelf level.

Shelf

The internal shelves are inside two beams with the same beam level and between the two stanchions. This is where you place your storage items. The medium-sized storage system is ideal for storing lightweight and non-palletized products. The shelves for long-span shelving include an 18mm particle board, steel shelf panel and wire shelf panel.

Board support

If the long span shelf system is 900 mm deep, the board support is a long span component used to support the 18 mm particle board shelf level. The board support prevents the board from sagging due to exposure to moisture and continuous weight loads. The support is designed to maintain the load capacity of the beam rather than increase the safe workload capacity.

Post end cap

These caps are inserted into the stanchions of long span shelves. This long span component provides a safety cap on top of the stanchion. These are optional components used in upright posts. It is used to protect against sharp edges that may remain on top of upright stanchions. The cap fits just by pushing it in and can be easily removed again.

Here are some additional components that you should be aware of -

The initial bay is also known as the starter bay and can be a stand-alone unit or you can connect add-on bays to expand your system. Also known as Joiner Bay. You need an initial bay before you can buy an add-on bay. This is an extension of Starter Bay.
