PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO), a leading pharmaceutical and herbal company in Indonesia, provides an explanation regarding its herbal remedies that people claim can cure coronavirus (COVID-19). Director of Sido Muncul, Irwan Hidayat said this herbal medicine called JSH is actually not intended to cure COVID-19.

"This is not a COVID-19 drug. Something has gone viral for people who consume this," Irwan said at sido muncul office, Jakarta, Saturday (27/6/2020).

1. The beginning of viral news that Herbal JSH can cure COVID-19

Irwan told that three months ago, a friend of his was positive for COVID-19 and then took the JSH Capsule and recovered. The news spread, so many bought JSH Herbs. Many people claim to be cured after trying to take this JSH Capsule.

Because of these news, Sido Muncul then gave this herbal medicine to the Semarang City Government, Central Java, for quarantined patients at Major Cityhall. Of the 45 patients who were positive for COVID-19, 40 were declared cured.

"The experiences and testimonials of COVID-19 patients who are cured, we can not just ignore. The experience of those who recovered from COVID-19 after taking JSH Capsules, the number of people infected and the lack of medication for COVID-19 prompted us to distribute JSH Capsules to several hospitals," Irwan said.

Sido Muncul began to develop herbal food supplement products since four years ago. JSH capsules are one of its products.
