Types and uses of D2 diesel fuel

Coming
to the types of D2 Diesel available in the market which can be
classified as:
•
Synthetic
Diesel
This type of diesel is produced from carbonaceous material like biomass, natural gases, coal, etc. After gasifying the raw material into a form of synthetic gas, the gas is purified, liquefied and collected using the Fischer–Tropschmethod. The liquid hence collected is known as the synthetic diesel. In this process, the transformation of the raw materials into synthetic diesel depends entirely on the material which you are using. Generally, the paraffin diesel has a very low percentage of sulphur and aromatics.
•
Bio-Diesel
The product bio-diesel or FAME is produced using various vegetable oils and fats of the animals. The biolipids are first transferred into methanol which further undergoes processing to form bio-diesel. The process of transesterification requires catalysts like Sodium Hydroxide which helps in easy conversion of the vegetable oils and methanol to form FAME leaving behind by-products like glycerin and water. This diesel fuel is very eco-friendly and has the ability to reduce the number of health risks.

Ether Diesel
Uses of diesel fuel
With increased demand for this fuel, several D2 diesel exporters in the US have emerged. Diesel is a very popular form of petroleum fuel used widely as it produces very little amount of sulphur when combusted. As per the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the use of diesel constitutes about seven per cent of the energy use in the U.S alone. It is used in vehicles, power generation, running heavy equipment, etc.
