To upgrade or not to upgrade.. That is the question my friend

by Paula van Dun Retired
Let me start of by saying that there are upgrades I spent money on that were worth every penny.

Mainly because they are huge time savers and help me to spend my online time as productive as possible.

As for TEs, I use my own judgement since I feel I can not rely in general on rankings stats of i.e. several TE ranking services.

It is a numbers game but... numbers don't tell everything. A site can have 100.000s of members but are those members active? Are those members all real people, or bots?

You can learn a lot just by i.e. looking at the names in TEs that have a social bar. Or look at the surf contest stats when available. When a lot of names are weird like grtywep4 without a profile pic, it is very likely that there are bots surfing there.

On many others I see that 90% of the adverts are from the owner/admin.
Than there are plenty sites that give away the shop by mods that give away the shop i.e. with mods that give you a lot of credits for logging in and rating a site. I hardly have to surf them to have my sites shown so why on earth should I upgrade?

New launches: sometimes a new TE or mailer is super hot because the owner hired a launch manager or because they offer outrageous cash or credits. When you return a few months later it is a ghost town. Because all members have so many credits that there is no need to surf. I do join them but spend a lot of credits i.e. on TE-JV that i use as a traffic funnel. TE-JV shows my promotions in many TEs plus it has GEO targeting. I use GEO targeting for offers i.e. only valid in the Netherlands but also for business services that cost money. Sorry to say but promoting these in countries like Pakistan is a waste of credits because the majority only surfs for pennies.

Lifetime upgrades: always a good idea when you know that the person launching is well known respected marketer. Sometimes I take it when it is very cheap although taking a risk not knowing if the site will survive.

Long term planning: TAEs and new mailers often give out JV accounts with a lot of free credits. I do sometimes take them but only spend a small part of the bonus. Like i.e. free solo mails. I save them till the site has a reasonable number of members where I can send my mailings to. When allowed I use banner rotators when member base is still small so that a larger variety is shown.

There are still some sites on my wishlist where I would love to upgrade in like some sites from Darren Olander

So where am I upgraded now?

There are a few more but above are my favorits

All above are good sites to choose as our main business opp. if you don't have a business of your own.

Something you need to consider is that you can't possibly earn enough credits to promote all properly, let alone all other programs you are a member in and that offer a partner program.

I would say upgrade when you are really going to use the service to its full potential and/or you have enough time and resources to promote at least to earn your investment back

What I do is promote within my own sites which is a TE, TAE, Mailers and a few downline builder services. However my own sites are still to small in members to reach enough people, they need to have tenthousands of active members to enable me to advertise these external sites only within my own services.

So I use co-op advertising with TE-JV as main traffic funnel to build members in my own sites and the ones of my favorite business partners (some became good friends) and biz opps.
