Once a religious lady was living in a village. Every morning she would clean her house and smear the floor with cow dung as it was a traditional practice to purify the home. Only after that she would worship the idols and take her food. She used to get the cow dung from her neighbor's house.

One day, the neighbor got jealous of the rituals the lady used to perform. She tied her cow inside the house, and the religious lady could not take the cow dung. Since she couldn't find the cow dung, she didn't eat anything all day and slept in the evening. This was a day of Sunday, and since she kept fast all day, Lord Sun got pleased with her.

Lord Sun appeared in her dream and told her that she would find her own cow. In the morning, there was a cow and a calf in the house of that lady. The cow always gave golden dung, and the lady continued cleaning and smearing her house, being grateful to Sun.

The neighbor got to know about this, and she informed the King of that place. King, with the help of his soldiers, snatched the cow out of greediness.

However, Lord Sun appeared in that King's dream and told him to release the cow, or it would be a great sin for him. The King didn't find any golden dung in the morning; it was all foul-smelling dung. He ordered his soldiers to give the cow back to the lady.

Getting her cow back, the lady was very happy, and she thanked Sun for his kind act. The King also announced in the kingdom that all people could observe Sunday fasting for Lord Sun. Soon the kingdom attained prosperity, happiness, and healthy living.
