Should you choose an Automatic or Manual Cleaner for Your Swimming Pool?

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

When you are walking around your pool floor, perhaps on your return to one end of the pool so that you can begin swimming another length, you won’t want your bare foot to inadvertently land on a sharp rock or twig. This is without considering the broader risks to your health and wellbeing a less-than-clean pool can pose.

Unfortunately, though, this can too easily happen if your pool is outdoors and you fail to keep its floor clean. The onus is on you to clean your pool floor once a week, lest the likes of leaves, twigs and similar debris fall into the water and sink to the bottom without you noticing.

Does cleaning your swimming pool have to be hard work?

Not necessarily! That’s because there’s some clever tech that can help you to get the job done more easily. You might be thinking: “Wouldn’t it be great if there was some kind of vacuum cleaner I could use on my swimming pool floor?” Well, in a sense, there is.

We stock a range of swimming pool cleaners that fall into two broad categories: manual cleaners and automatic cleaners. The former are the ones that most closely resemble a vacuum cleaner – at least in terms of how you would use them to clean your pool.

Now, this has both advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, you can probably quickly get to grips with using a manual cleaner to banish dirt from your pool floor. But on the negative side, a manual cleaner isn’t typically as time-efficient to use as an automatic cleaner.

Is opting for an automatic cleaner always the easier option?

Once you’ve invested in one, probably yes. It could save you an appreciably large amount of time – since, here at Pool Warehouse, we stock automatic cleaners in fully automatic and semi-automatic variants capable of getting on with pool-cleaning duties with little of your direct input required.

On the flipside, automatic cleaners tend to be more expensive to purchase than their manual counterparts. However, in your eyes, this may seem a small price to pay for the time and effort you could regularly save with the right automatic cleaner.

Our team can dispatch both manual and automatic cleaners from our stock quickly to give our customers the benefit of both of these popular types of swimming pool cleaners. When you’re looking to clean your pool both thoroughly and with relatively little effort, our automatic and manual cleaners alike can be invaluable items in your pool maintenance armoury.
