The manpower consultancy also known as human resource consultancy refers to the systematic approach towards the workforce management by installing right people at the right places, maintaining the HR relations and its associated areas and recruitment of appropriate candidates for the growth of the company. The manpower planning and consultation includes four major steps.

1.     Analysis of the present manpower inventory

  • Trend Analysis includes projection of past trends, indexation based on the current year and statistical analysis.
  • Work Load Analysis determines the work load within a business segment or department.
  • Work Force Analysis refers to the allowance of the workforce requirements.
  • There are several other analyses which are performed with the help of various Mathematical methods including regression, new venture analysis and so on.
3.     Employee Program Development

After the current inventory and forecast is performed, the employee programs can be developed based on the same for the betterment of the organization as a whole. This includes recruitment, selection and placement services.

4.     Training and Development

The training and development sessions are based on the expansion plans, diversification areas and future developments. It helps in developing the employee skill set and adding on to the existing knowledge database.

  • The basic four pillars of managerial functionality, namely, planning, organization, direction and control are based on manpower consultation. Since HR is responsible for implementation of the same, hence it plays an important role in the segment.
