Employee Engagement – The New Need Of Organizational Work Models

by Global Hunt Recruitment Consultant

The employee engagement refers to the activities undertaken by the management in order to boost the creativity and productivity of employees so that they feel passionate about their contribution to the company as a whole. It is the most effective way to create brand loyalty among employees and helps in long term retention. But employee engagement is one of the toughest things to implement in a work culture as you need to think of creative ideas that can make the working experience fun and encouraging and at the same time productive. Hence, we bring in certain simple yet effective ideas that can boost employee engagement within an organization.

  • Involvement of the employees in the business planning process is one of key ways to create employee engagement. When people know the current standings of the business and its long term goals, they feel informed about their own career path along the similar lines. This does not essentially mean that one needs to involve everyone in a board meeting. At least the people who can pass on the information to the below levels should be present.
  • Having a knowledge sharing system in place is vital for the new knowledge and innovations to be spread among people. Initiative can be taken to train a certain number to people regarding a certain development and then asking them to impart their knowledge can be beneficial. This helps in information cycling and people become thorough with the same.
  • Typical training sessions with a person constantly talking, feels like sitting in a class or in a lecture session. It becomes boring and monotonous. Creative ways should be brought in training sessions to make it interesting, long lasting and effective. Interactive learning, fun quiz, idea sharing are some of ways which can make training sessions motivating yet useful.
  • Nothing draws more attention than incentives. If small incentives can be associated with the trainings and activities, it is sure to increase participation. Incentives can either be in the form of small token amounts or gift coupons to increase employee engagement.
  • All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. We are all familiar with this saying. But this does not refer to kids only. At workplace, if employees work day in and day out without any type of recreational activities, then productivity is bound to suffer. Smalls events and outings can be crucial in this regard.
  • We have heard about the “first impression is the last impression” proverb. It is applicable in case of companies too. When a new candidate joins in, it might be helpful in making the on boarding experience fun. This will help in asset retention in long term. Making the information during joining a bit more interesting helps in breaking the ice with the new recruits.
  •  Having an internal magazine and comment sharing section works wonder in case of employee engagement. The employees get to express their views and ideas without any setback and open appreciation of creative ideas can be very helpful.

Therefore, these are some of the employee engagement ideas which could be beneficial. Companies can also take it step forward through the recruitment process outsourcing services provided by employment firms for implementing such ideas.
