Performance research on LSAW steel pipe for deep water drilling riser work

To make sure the high performance of LSAW steel pipe on strict demands of inclement deep sea service condition and complex operation factors on deep water drilling riser mechanical properties, it is necessary to have deep research on LSAW steel pipe's property.

First of all, we should classify the categories for different LSAW steel pipe with different function when we make it into practical work. Second, we should make tests for the mechanical properties, appearance and geometric dimensions of trial-manufactured steel pipe to insure is it really suitable for the deep sea work and water drilling riser.

According to these tests, we know that high strength would be the first character for the deep sea work. Of course, strong low temperature toughness and low hardness are other performance which LSAW should have for the water drilling riser work. In addition, we should control the steel pipe's diameter, ovality, wall thickness, straightness and appearance geometric dimensions strictly to make sure achieve the mechanical properties of steel pipe and dimensional accuracy.
