by Suraj V. Digital Marketing (sr. SEO Expert)According to a latest data
revealed by the Mumbai
Metro officials on Sunday, April 10, the new line 2A and 7 have witnessed
over two lakh ridership in a week.
However, it has come to light
that the average daily footfall, which is nearly 30,000-35,000, is still lower than that expected.
The new Mumbai Metro services
were partially thrown open for the public on April 2, 2022. Under the Phase 1
of project, 2A and 7 corridors covers 20 kilometres distance. On Line 2A,
trains will operate between Dhanukarwadi and Upper Dahisar. Additionally,

Meanwhile, citizens expressed
that they prefer travelling by Mumbai local trains as Phase 1 of Metro lines 2A
and 7 is not providing direct seamless connectivity beyond Goregaon and
Dahisar.
They also believe that MMRDA,
which is constructing metro across MMR, should also simultaneously work on
improving the interconnectivity to bring good ridership otherwise, the
intention to construct metro so to decongest road and existing railway will
fail.
Besides, reports have maintained
that the remaining 12 km stretch is slated
to be open before August 15.
