With the help of the radio switch, the user can turn on and off the Wi-Fi as per the necessity. However, this feature can have many errors too. It can take place due to many reasons, such as disabled Wi-Fi, corrupted Driver, etc. Therefore, some users face the message Wi-Fi Radio Switch is Off.

There are some shortcut keys present in the keyboard, which can off the Wi-Fi. There are chances that you have pressed that key, which led to turning the Wi-Fi off. So, if you are facing this error, then you can follow this article to resolve the mentioned error.

Ensure the Working Hardware

Generally, users facing this error neglect this fact that it is turned off due to the shortcut key. So, the very first step is to use these shortcuts to restart the Wi-Fi.

In a lot of laptops, you can find a function key that is dedicated to this purpose (generally, F5). This function key serves a dual purpose in this case. So, if you wish to use this key, then you have to press the Fn key and the dedicated key (F5) simultaneously. If the Wi-Fi is disabled, then Wi-Fi will enable itself.

There are some models that have the shortcut keys to activate or deactivate the Airplane mode. Generally, the keys are the same. So, you don’t have to change the procedure. When the airplane mode is Switched on, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned off. If that’s the case, then you have to click on the Wi-Fi radio button to turn on the Wi-Fi.

Just see all the functions key to check your laptop or PC have this key or not. If yes, then you use this step to resolve the issue.

BIOS Setting Checking

The other reason can be an error in the BIOS setting, which led to the mentioned error. Generally, the power management department shares the blame for the BIOS generated issue. This section determines which part and division of the PC will have how much of power.

  • Launch the Setting by clicking Windows Key + I.
  • Double click on Update and Security to open it.

  • Tap on button Restart Now, which can be found under the Advanced Startup section.
  • Now, click on Troubleshoot.
  • Tap on Advanced Options.
  • Now, tap on UEFI Firmware Settings.
  • Click on Restart.

Now the system will open the BIOS settings, and you will be eligible to work.

You can find a button to turn off the Wi-Fi when you connect the LAN Cable. So, make sure that Wi-Fi is off before you enter the BIOS setting, and you have the latest version of BIOS. If you don’t have the newest version, then you have to update the BIOS first.

If this procedure fails you, then you should go for the next technique.

Reinstall the Driver

Sometimes, due to extra drivers, there can be the generation of the error. If that is the case, then you should reinstall the driver and make sure there is no extra driver.

If you wish to follow this step, then make sure you have the latest supporting Driver or the LAN connection to download the installing driver kit.

Right-tap on the Start symbol on the bottom left corner.

  • Click on the Device Manager.
  • Go to The Network Adapters.
  • GO to Wireless LAN Driver and click right on it.
  • Then select the Uninstall Device.
  • Connect to the internet through the LAN or Modem.
  • Now, install the latest supporting Driver.

If you are still facing this issue, then you should install the Windows Update. From here, you can install the updated drivers which are suitable for your PC. The Windows Update resolves the minor temporary issues too.

After these steps, you will resolve this issue. Make sure you check the improvement after every technique. With this habit, you can skip the unnecessary steps.
