Reasons that Cause QuickBooks Online Banking Error 185

1.       One of the most common reasons that cause the QuickBooks Online Banking Error 185 to arise is an error with the banking server. If the banking server is not responding or is down then this causes the application to encounter the error.

2.       The Web Connect feature of QuickBooks is used to create a connection of QuickBooks with the banking website to download your account’s financial data if the WebConnect is outdated then you might get error 185.

3.       If you are getting the error in QuickBooks Desktop then this indicates an error during the installation of the application on your operating system.

Steps to Recover from QuickBooks Online Banking Error 185

Solution 1: Refresh your Bank Account in QuickBooks

1.       Open QuickBooks and from the left side panel click Banking.

2.       Now select the Update option from the top right corner of the screen.

3.       Now select the account that you want to update and uncheck the account that does’t need any changes and click Update Now.

4.       Now type the login credentials of your bank account and press Continue button.

Solution 2: Manually Import Transactions in QuickBooks

1.       Open your web browser and log in to your online banking account.

2.       Find the option to download the transaction file from the banking options.

3.       Make sure to download the file in a format that is supported by QuickBooks like .qbo or .csv format.

4.       Save the file on your desktop and open QuickBooks.

5.       Select the Import option and browse the file from the desktop.

6.       Click OK and select the account on which you want to apply the transactions.

7.       Once the transactions are imported verify that you have got them correct under the accounts.

Solution 3: Reconfigure the Firewall Settings

1.       Open the settings of your computer by navigating to Control Panel.

2.       Click Windows Firewall and select Settings.

3.       Now under the Rules section select Network / Internet.

4.       Now select the program from the list or click Browse to choose QuickBooks.

5.       Set Inbound and Outbound rules and save the settings.
