While streaming any movie or watching any video, you may experience a delay in the audio. such lags can often ruin your streaming experience. If you are facing this issue on your Windows device, then apply the solutions given below.


Run the Audio Troubleshooter on Windows 10

  1. You should select the Windows key and choose the Settings option.
  2. Then choose the ‘Update and Security’ option.
  3. After that, select the ‘Troubleshoot’ option through the left side panel.
  4. Thereafter, choose the ‘Playing Audio’ option and then choose ‘Run the troubleshooter.’

Run the Audio Troubleshooter on Windows 7 and 8

  1. You should select hit the Windows key to invoke the Search section.
  2. Then input ‘troubleshooting’ into it and hit the Enter key.
  3. After that, select the ‘Hardware and Sound’ option.
  4. You have to choose the ‘Playing Audio’ option.
  5. Later, select the Next option.

Modify the Audio Format

  1. Go to the sound button and right-click on it, then choose the ‘Playback devices’ option.
  2. After that, select the default device and right-click on it then choose the Properties option.
  3. You should select the Advanced section, and choose ‘16-bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)’ through the menu of the drop-down.
  4. Select the OK button.

Turn off Audio Enhancements

  1. Navigate to the sound button, and right-click on it, then choose the ‘Playback devices’ option.
  2. After that, click on the standard device then choose the Properties option.
  3. You should click on the ‘Enhancements’ section and mark the ‘Disable all enhancements’ then select the OK button.

Uninstall and Install the Audio Driver Again

  1. Hold the Windows and R keys altogether over the keyboard to invoke the Run section.
  2. Then input ‘devmgmt.msc.’ into it and select the OK button.
  3. Once invoke the Device Manager, select the ‘Sound, video and game controllers’ and twice click on it.
  4. Thereafter, select the audio device and right-click on it then choose the Uninstall device option.
  5. Later, mark the ‘Delete the driver software for this device’ box and select the Uninstall button.
  6. Now, reboot the system, and Windows will install the suitable audio driver automatically.

With the help of the aforementioned solutions you will be able to fix the audio lag issue on your Windows device.
