Keeping your home clean is a task that never ends. Without a clean house, you can feel overwhelmed and disorganized. With these tips, you can easily keep your home clean.

Top tips for keeping your home clean

Once you have deep cleaned your house, it's time to figure out the best way to keep it that way. Now again, not everyone is the same, and that is okay. You have to figure out what works best for you and your family. Focus on what areas of the home get the most use—the high traffic areas. For instance, make everyone take their shoes off once they get inside. That will cut down on the dirt and mud being tracked all over the floor. Using small area rugs is a plus because they can easily be picked up and tossed into the washer to get clean. You can't do that with regular carpet.

Make a weekly/monthly cleaning plan

If you can come up with a weekly and monthly schedule for cleaning, you definitely should. Your daily/weekly schedule should consist of essential daily tasks. Make the beds, wash dishes and put away, take out the trash, sweep/vacuum, wipe down the counters and stove, and wash laundry. If you want to divide it all up between the days of the week, that's fine as long as it is realistic and manageable. Your monthly schedule should consist of cleaning tasks like cleaning out the refrigerator, organizing the pantry and cabinets, cleaning the oven and microwave, changing the furnace filters, and wiping down the walls and floors.

Deep cleaning your home is essential

Deep cleaning is a must when it comes to being able to keep your home cleaned. You may get chills when you think about deep cleaning, but it is well worth it. Deep cleaning is like spring cleaning in a sense. You have to clean everything from baseboards, ceiling fans, walls, ceilings, and much more. You are cleaning what you wouldn't usually touch on a regular day of tidying up the house. Get into all the cracks and crevices, the hard-to-reach areas, and if you have to, get some help. Kiddos are perfect for cramped regions that you can't fit your arm or even reaching areas above your reach. They are helpful for something. Lol.

When Tasks Should Be Completed

Everyone has a different outlook on a typical work week. Sometimes weeks may vary as well. Studies suggest the average household spends on average an hour plus cleaning the house and doing laundry daily. If you were to do your laundry and deeper cleaning towards the beginning of the week, everyone would have clean clothes, and there wouldn't be much to clean. Personally, doing laundry on Saturdays work best, as well as a deeper cleaning of the home. Typically Monday through Friday consists of the basic cleaning.

  • Making the beds

  • Putting dirty laundry in the hamper

  • Washing dishes

  • Putting dishes away

  • Sweeping/Vacuuming

  • Taking out the trash

  • Cleaning the toilets

  • Cleaning the tub/shower

Saturdays consist of

  • Laundry

  • Cleaning the stove/oven

  • Cleaning the refrigerator

  • Dusting

  • Mopping

  • Deep cleaning the tub/shower

Conclusion

So remember, quickly having a clean home and keeping it that way is possible. Just follow the tips from the article, and you will be on the right path. Be sure to do what you are comfortable with, not everyone is the same, and that is okay.
