Facebook is the most powerful and most used social media platform around the globe. One must be living under the carpet if they aren't aware of the fact that Facebook gives access to millions of potential customers and clients whom one can connect and engage with. You can market your business and through Facebook turn these potentials into permanent ones.

The last recorded active users in a month according to the stats are 2.38 billion in number. These massive numbers make Facebook an essential touch point for businesses.

What is a Facebook business page?

A Facebook Business Page is a page that allows you to advertise your business digitally around the globe. It is different from other Facebook profiles as they represent a brand and not a person. So it makes you clear that the page only requires business-related content, you may post about faces behind the name to make it more authentic but that should also be business related.

A Facebook Business Page allows you to showcase your products and services along with promoting them. Responding and interacting with the customers, engaging and conversing with the followers, and sometimes even cracking a deal.

Steps to create a Facebook Business page

While creating a Facebook business page you need to keep a few things in mind, such as analysing everything from your profile and cover image to Facebook ads, the target audience to media planning and much more.

Here are the simple steps to follow to create a winning Facebook business page.

Step 1. Sign up

To start with, go to Facebook.com and click on the drop arrow "Create a page". You'll be then redirected to a page where you've to choose between "Business/Brand" or "Community/Public figure", followed by clicking Get Started.

Guideline- If you're not sure about which category your business falls in, you can type a letter to see a list of suggested categories. Choose the one which you think is appropriate for your business.

Step 2. Add profile and cover image

Moving on, you'll be asked for a picture for your profile picture and cover picture. Be smart and make the most of the given option by uploading the logo of your brand or an image that makes your brand memorable.

For the cover image go for something that makes you stand out from others, for example, you can use visually appealing elements or an image of your best-selling product as your facebook banners design.

Remember, this is your chance to impress your audience. Putting a visually pleasing image for your audience will leave a lasting impression, so you're easily identified as well as hold strong memories in your viewer's mind.

Use the recommended standard size of the picture, so Facebook doesn't need to crop or stretch your image.

Facebook profile picture size - 170×170 pixels

Facebook cover picture size - 820×462 pixels

Step 3. Fill in the required information

Next up, Facebook asks for basic information about your business such as username, description, contact details, etc. Fill in to move ahead.

  • Username- Facebook provides unique usernames for every user. It goes like @ followed by a unique name that doesn't match any other user. Choose a simple yet attractive name so your audience can easily memorize it.

  • Description- Descriptions are basically designed to drive leads to your profile. Keep it crisp for your audience to understand your business, do not use more than 4 to 5 lines.

  • Contact details- Share all your contact details such as phone number, e-mail, etc. So your customers can reach out to you quickly and easily.

  • Location- If you have your physical store, add the accurate address. The city along with state and other landmark details.

  • Hours- Give a brief about the opening and closing time of your store and if you're open only during a specific time, state the same as well.

Step 4. Add a Story or post and Team

Now that you're done with the basic details, post a first post. Your first post should be a welcome post or story and not something that feels out of the box.  A welcome post should reflect who you are, and what you do, or it can be geared toward user-generated content for driving immediate traffic.

Below the story option, there's an add team member option as well. If you want you can add your team member's name and profile to make it look more authentic and transparent.

Step 5. Invite your target audience, engage and grow

You're in the last stage of creating a business page and by now your Facebook page is ready to go. Lastly, go ahead with posting content to your wall, make sure the first post is a welcome post. Do not go straight away with promotional content that will look like bombarding with the content. Add value and engaging effects to your posts to make them look visually appealing as well as engaging.

First and foremost, do well research with your target audience and reach out to them. Invite your friends, family, and colleagues to your page via other channels such as Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. You can even make an official announcement through your personal profile to bring new followers. Send emails to your past customers and clients saying "Follow our new Facebook page" it will drive immense traffic to your page overnight.

Add Call to Action to your page

Now that your page is all set, adding a Call to Action (CTA) will help your audience direct to your business in the most suitable way such as through menu, offers, reviews, and photos. A CTA button is located at the top right side of every Facebook Business Page, just below the cover photo. You can edit it to your desired choices.

Click on the “+ Add a Button” to choose from the list of types of call-to-actions.

Get Verified

To get a certified badge for your page to make it look like an official page, you need to submit a few documents to Facebook. This simple badge will gain the trust of your audience immediately and will make it look authentic and reliable. To get your own badge you'll need to fill out a form provided by Facebook
