How to Check the FSSAI license number?

FSSAI Registration or FSSAI Food License is mandatory for FBO in India irrespective of its annual turnover. FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standard Authority of India was established by the government of India under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. FSSAI issue a 14 digit FSSAI License number to Food Business Operators (FBOs) after applying for FSSAI Registration with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It ensures the safety of the Food products produced, manufacture, Sale or import by FBO in India.

FSSAI Licenses are of three Types - Basic License (Annual turnover is below 12 lakh), State Food License (Annual turnover above 12 lakh rupees but below 20 Crores), Central Food license (Annual turnover above 20 Crores). FSSAI License can be issued for FBO maximum for 5 years. Later, food business operators need to renew the FSSAI Food license by paying licence renewal fees and appropriate documents to renew FSSAI Licence.

Procedure to Check FSSAI license number

Step 1: Visit FSSAI’s official government website https://foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in/cmsweb/TrackFBO.aspx.

Enter License / Registration Number issued by the government in the available blank space appearing on the page.

Step 2:  After Entering the 14 digit Food license number issued for FBO and click on ‘Submit’. Make sure that you should enter the correct license number and should be 14 digits.

Step 3: IF case you have entered an invalid Food license number. An error message will be displayed as follows.”Invalid License No.”

Now check your FSSAI license number again and repeat step 2.

Step 4: Once you’ve clicked ‘Submit’ and

If you have entered the correct/Valid Food Licence number and click submit. You will able to get the complete details about the food business operator includes:

• Licence/Registration Number – Food Licence/Registration Number issued for FBO
• Expiry Date – The Expiry date of the FSSAI Food Licence issued.
• Kind of Business – Type of FBO(Manufacturer, Food Importer, Food Seller or more)
• Products – Type of products FBO deals in.
• Status – Food Licence Status( active or Expired)
• Company Name – Name of the Food business operator(FBOs)
• Premises Address– Address of the Food business operator(FBOs)
