How Do I Choose A Good Running Club App?

by Mohit J. White Hat Link Building Services

Oh boy, this is a hard question to answer, at least in the way you want me to answer it most likely. However, I do have some recommendations for you on choosing a solid running club app, but first I want to explain why running an online running club is so important.

Yes, the pandemic is a big contributor to the importance of an online running club, but it isn’t the sole factor, nor was this problem something that only started to exist when the pandemic happened. You see, the pandemic didn’t create most of these problems which the digital world are solving, it simply hasten the demise of older approaches to things. People hated commuting every day to school and work, long before the pandemic was a thing. Companies refused to let them telecommute because they were afraid they wouldn’t do their jobs and wouldn’t pay attention to teachers. Necessity has proven these mostly wrong.

Being a running coach was a challenge before the pandemic, because people have busy lives, and scheduling meets where everyone can train together was nigh impossible to begin with. Quite frankly, getting more than one person on the same schedule is just going to be impossible for most of the rest of human history at this point, barring the invention of some sort of safe time travel.

So, even if this pandemic weren’t an issue, preventing the safe gathering of people and the safe use of social training facilities, this problem was already an issue. This is where an online running club steps in. Through an online running club, everyone can individually train, or they can still train together, just remotely over voice and video chat, and with a good running club app, they can share their biometric data and even race while not being in the same place.

How do I choose a good running club app?

Well, there are too many variables for me to just recommend a handful of apps for this. Your coaching approach varies, the sentiments of your athletes vary, your regimes vary. So, what I would recommend you do for your online running club, is first and foremost to choose an app that is supported on both iOS and Android. And I don’t just mean that some version of it runs on both, I mean that the app itself is identical on both platforms. Users of one of these platforms will never willingly switch to the other, as people have their preferences with this, and they are rather vehement about them.

Along with this, basic support for Bluetooth is critical, because this allows for that biometric data from the smart watches to be directly imported without any kind of complexity needed. Simply open the app, turn on the watches readings and parent with the phone, and go. Finally, an emphasis on the social aspect of it is a good idea, and I don’t mean integration of ridiculous social networks. I mean voice, video and text, as well as group chats and things like virtual races based on the biometric data are excellent ways to train and capture that social aspect in a safe, schedule-independent environment.

If you use these as your criteria for choosing your running club app, your online running club will succeed in ways that even your traditional running club never dreamt of!
